In a most epochal and splendid ceremony Elder Monday Jimmy Etokakpan, JP was on Thursday, 24th July, 2014 sworn in as the 9th International President of Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio (MMI) by the Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State represented by the State Chief Registrar Chief Magistrate Eton. Noteworthy in this ceremony was the attendance by the Grand Patron Air Marshal (Elder) Nsikak Eduok and the largest number of all the living past Presidents but one plus four of the 12 founding members usually referred to in Mboho parlance as the 12 Apostles or the 12 Visionary Ibibio sons. ThePast Presidents were Akparawa Valentine Attah, Ph.D, Akparawa Okon Imerh, Akparawa Udo Sam Umoatan, Akparawa (Dr) Okon Emah and Akparawa Sylvester J. Akpan, Ph.D. The founding members in the house were Akp (Comrade) Amah T. Amah; Akparawa (Dr) Akpan Micah Umoh, HOR Abuja; Akparawa Ikpong Essien-Udom, founding Secretary General and Akparawa Udo Sam Umoatan already noted.

And so after a valedictory address by Akparawa (Elder) Nse Ubeh taken and well received by the mammoth crowd in attendance in the Main Auditorium of the MMI named Ibibio Hall the outgoing President called for a motion for the formal dissolution of the 8th International EXCO which was presided over by him. This was followed by administration of Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Office on Akparawa Monday Etokakpan and so at exactly 2.30pm on July 24, 2014 the reins of power of Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio got transferred in a most solemn and symbolic rite upon Akparawa Monday Etokakpan from Akparawa Nse Ubeh.

Following 14 officers took their turns in a row and were sworn in by the Chief Judge immediately following the proclamation of the 9th President Etokakpan.
Note that the use of the prefix “International” has been adopted by Mboho to make a distinction between the central officers and members elected into similarly titled functions in the respective chapters which have similar structures.
