Language is accepted, in its simplest definition, to be a body of words and the systems for their use common to a people who are of the same community or nation, the same geographical area, or the same cultural tradition:

Taken together a people without their own unique and peculiar language cannot talk about their own unique and peculiar culture and can therefore not talk about their own identity.

A people’s culture nay identity is honed, nurtured, studied, appreciated and preserved in that people’s language.

This underscores the prime place that Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio accords the teaching and propagation of the Ibibio Language amongst Ibibio people wherever they may be on the surface of the earth for the two principal reason implied above, namely to remain connected to our roots and very importantly to keep the Ibibio Nation from going extinct.

And so on June 19, 2015 the International President of Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio, Akparawa Elder Monday Etokakpan will lead a section of his executive members to Manchester in the United Kingdom to perform the important function of commissioning the first overseas Ibibio Language Centre for the teaching of Ibibio Language to our stock in Europe.

This is another novel idea and programme of Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio which is expected to be replicated in other centre in Europe and all other continents where Ibibios are clustered. Herewith a flier for the ceremony. All who can make it are cordially invited.
