Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio regrets to announce the passing on of Akparawa Nsidibe Udoh of Manchester Chapter, United Kingdom at the youthful age of 56.

Late Akparawa Nsidibe Udoh, a healthcare worker and healthcare trainer and mentor had worked in Nigeria, Jamaica and in the United Kingdom where he spent most of his working life until his death after a protracted illness.

The Late Akparawa Nsidibe was a pioneer member of Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio Manchester Chapter and was one of the few in attendance in the inaugural meeting of September 4, 2004 in that City. He eventually served in the first executive council of this Chapter as Vice Chairman between 2004 and 2005 and as Protem Chairman between 2005 to 2007.

He was elected Chairman of the Chapter and served in this office between 2007 and 2011.

 He championed the preservation, promotion and projection of Ibibio Language where ever we are as Ibibio people. It was during his regime as the Chapter Chairman that Manchester Chapter of Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio adopted the Ibibio Language Promotion as their main project and it remains so till today culminating in the commissioning in Manchester by the International President odf Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio Akparawa Monday Etokakpan two years ago of the first Ibibio Language Centre. This was done by encouraging parents to communicate with their Children in Ibibio Language. Reading materials were purchased by the Chapter to aid parents and their children with the programme. As the Chairman, Manchester Chapter he initiated and hosted the 1st Ibibio Summit in Europe. It was during the Summit that Manchester Chapter was formally inaugurated on 3rd May 2008.

Although late Akparawa Nsidibe Udoh was terminally ill for most part of the last two years of his life on earth, he remained an active member of Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio. He did not fail to attend meetings anytime he was strong enough to do so.

He was a member of the United Kingdom Working Council of Mboho Mkaparawa Ibibio Europe between 2011 and 2016.

He is survived by his wife and 4 children, all boys.

A release from the family has announced that there will be service of songs at the Deeper Life Bible Church, Solway Street East (off Lodge Lane) Toxteth, Liverpool L8 0TY between 7pm and 9pm on Thursday, 9th February, 2017 while funeral service holds the next day Friday, 10th February between 10am and 1.30pm at St Michael’s Church, Church Road, Garston, Liverpool L19 8EA.

Interment takes place at a Cemetry on Springwood Crematorium, Springwood Avenue, Liverpool L25 7UN.

There will be a reception at Noah’s Ark Centre, Speke Baptist Church, Ganworth Road, Speke, Liverpool L24 2SA.

To many Akparawa Nsidibe Udoh’s life on earth was short but as it is obvious it is not how long but how well. 56 years for Nsidibe was long enough to father and influence his children in the way he would want them to go, serve and uplift his extended family back home, serve humanity in his chosen profession across three continents, made an indelible mark in community service by sacrificing his time, talents and resources and seeing to the establishment of a worthy and enduring legacy for his race on mother earth.
