Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio regrets to announce the passing on of one of our long-standing and highly dedicated members Akparawa Emmanuel Etim Etuk, better known as Akparawa Barrister E.E. Etuk, Senior Akparawa.

Barr Etuk, a veteran of community service and a foremost patriot of Akwa Ibom State and Ibibio Nation passed on recently at the age of 72. Until his death he was the Principal Partner at E. E. Etuk and Co Law Office, Uyo.

An alumni of the Law Faculty of the University of Jos and the 1983 class of the Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos, Obong (Barr) Etuk is survived by his dear wife and 4 children, Obongawan (Mrs) Grace E. Etuk  Mr Aniekan E. Etuk, Miss Patience E. Etuk, Mr James E. Etuk and Mr Charles E. Etuk.

A Prince of the Nnung Udo Enang Umo Ubeng, the Okuku of Nwut Usiong Itam royal family Akparawa Emmanuel Etuk was at different times in his life a Teacher, Police Officer, Evangelist, a solicitor/advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, a grass-root mobilizer and a politician who held the position of Legal Adviser of Nigerian Republican Congress (NRC) Cross River State Chapter, a national political party that formed the government in Cross River State in 1990 and he subsequently served as a member of the steering Committee that formed that Party.

Obong (Barr) E. E. Etuk found in Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio a veritable platform and vehicle for service and self-expression. He served as a founding member of Calabar Chapter as first Vice Chairman and as first legal adviser. Akparawa Emmanuel Etuk served as MMI International Legal Adviser, chairman Disciplinary Committee and Chairman Membership Screening Committee from where he was appointed Mboho’s High Commissioner to the South South Nigeria Commission.

Late Akparawa (Obong) Emmanuel Etim Etuk was a great family man and will be sorely missed by his nuclear and extended family cum community who found him trust worthy enough to be made their Village Head in 2014 having served for years in Itu Paramount Rulers Advisory Council, among other esteemed groups and organizations.

According to a release by the family the funeral service will take place on Thursday, 6th April, 2017 at Qua Ibo Church, Nelson Mandela by Calabar/Itu Road, Itam within Uyo Metropolis at 10.am.

The international President Akparawa Monday Etokakpan on behalf of the International Executive Council, the Central Working Committee, the Advisory Council and the Board of Trustees sends sincere condolences to the family of our departed member and enjoins all members to turn out in our numbers to pay our last respect to our fallen member while praying for sweet repose to the soul of our departed Akparawa (Barr) E. E. Etuk.
